After an impressive debut at the 2024 Adelaide Fringe Festival, Untamed Circus is bringing back their production Ritual to Adelaide Fringe 2025.
Ritual follows seven characters as they journey together to discover their incredible skills and supernatural powers. The show offers breath-taking circus arts, including aerial arts, cyr wheel, fire spinning, juggling, acrobatics and more, performed by talented local Adelaide artists.
Ritual received great acclaim for their first season with reviewer See Do Eat Review describing the production as “One for the curious-minded and those who like their circus with a darker edge. Mysterious and enigmatic, Ritual will appeal to the little superstitious side in all of us.” This year, co-producers Amelia Racz, Keshia Vitor and Amelia Beer of Untamed Circus have some exciting developments in store to bring the show back, bigger and better.
“We are very excited to bring back Ritual for the 2025 Adelaide Fringe Festival. We have some exciting new things in the works right now and are very keen to share this with audiences soon,” says co-producer Amelia Racz.
Co-producer Keshia Vitor also says, “We are excited to bring back the cast from this year’s show, with the addition of the captivating Emily Cester as our fire queen.” The show also features the only LED cyr wheel in South Australia, performed by the legendary Paige Footner. The acclaimed acrobat Samuel Matthewman will also be making a return as the unsettling puppet character, alongside rising juggling star Ryan Hooper. Ritual’s three accomplished aerialists are also producers of the show – Amelia Racz, the La Folie National Elite Tissu Champion of 2023, Amelia Beer, and Keshia Vitor.
“As a local performing arts company, we pride ourselves on contributing to providing sustainable and viable careers for Adelaide artists, so being able to run Ritual again with our fantastic local artists has been really valuable,” says co-producer Amelia Beer.Ritual will be running over two weekends at The Vault at Fool’s Paradise, Tarntanyangga/Victoria Square on 8 – 10 March and 22 – 23 March at 4:30pm.
